School of International Culture and Communication's Sino-Japanese Humanities and Arts Workshop Successfully Concludes

From July 9th to 18th, the 2024 Sino-Japanese Humanities and Arts Workshop organized by the School of International Culture and Communication was successfully held in Japan. Led by Professor Wu Jiang from the Animation (Japanese International Program), a total of 21 students from three majors – Animation (Japanese International Program), Communication Studies, and Radio and Television Directing – participated in the event.

During their stay in Kyoto, the faculty and students received a warm welcome from Professor Yoichi Terashita, President of Kyoto University of Advanced Science, a friendly cooperative institution of BCU. Vice President Liu Fei led the group on a tour of the Kyoto Station and Hyakumanben campuses, including specialized laboratories. They engaged in in-depth discussions with Japanese professors,focusing on the intersection of artificial intelligence and animation creation. Subsequently, the delegation visited JCL Foreign Language School, another friendly cooperative institution. The Dean of JCL personally welcomed the group and provided detailed information about their pre-master's program and study abroad examinations. They also delivered a lecture on Japanese etiquette and expressed their eagerness to welcome students from BCU to pursue further studies in Japan.

During their time in Tokyo, the workshop participants also visited Takarazuka University's Tokyo Media Arts School, a friendly cooperative institution. The president of Takarazuka University introduced their master's programs and the preparations required for study abroad examinations. They also organized a tour of the university's student graduation exhibition. Faculty members from both institutions engaged in extensive discussions on strengthening future collaboration and fostering deeper ties. The Sino-Japanese Humanities and Arts Workshop fostered friendship between Chinese and Japanese students and faculty, broadened students' horizons, and enhanced their international understanding.
