BCU Hosts the 2024 Star Enterprise-University Collaboration Units Awards Ceremony and the 9th University-Enterprise Collaboration Forum

On May 29th, the prestigious "Spotlight on Novel Productivity Forces: Synergistic Education and Employment Boost" 2024 Beijing City University Star Enterprise-University Collaboration Units Awards Ceremony and the 9th Annual Enterprise-University Collaboration Forum took place at our scenic Shunyi Campus, marking a significant milestone. The event garnered the esteemed presence of representatives from 151 corporations and institutions, all of whom have fostered enduring partnerships with BCU, as they gracefully accepted awards and official designations. The ceremony was graced by the attendance of the Chair of University Council, Gong Yu, Executive Vice President Tian Peiyuan, Vice Chair of University Council and Vice President Qin Shiyou, alongside Vice President Hu Liqin. Key figures from academic and student affairs sectors, deans of various academic departments, faculty members, student advisors, as well as delegates of senior students, actively engaged in this momentous gathering. The event was hosted by Ms. Hua Hui, who helms the Career Guidance Center, ensuring a smooth and productive discourse throughout the event.

Chair of University Council, Gong Yu, on behalf of the faculty and students of BCU, firstly extended the warmest welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the leaders of the attending employers. He emphasized that the cultivation of high-quality applied talents cannot be achieved without the collaborative efforts of various enterprises and institutions and their support for BCU. BCU will further comprehensively establish an employment work model centered on students, focused on practical application, and innovated in response to the demands of the times. Adhering to the practice of visiting enterprises to expand job opportunities, strengthening the collaboration between the school and enterprises, the school accelerates the cultivation of high-level innovative talents, enhances the construction of scientific and technological innovation capabilities, focuses on new directions such as digital economy and smart technology, systematically promotes interdisciplinary integration, precisely expands into new fields and arenas, concentrating on fostering new strengths and dynamics. With dedication and passion, BCU is committed to fully devoting itself to the employment of graduates.

Yang Peiyu, Dean of the School of Economics and Management (SEM), delivered an in-depth presentation titled 'Fusion Innovation, Comprehensive Practice – Focusing on Novel Productivity Forces, Leading Industry Heights, Deepening"Government-Industry-Education-Enterprise-Research" Collaboration, and Developing a New Platform for High-Quality Talent Cultivation.' Yang Peiyu shared his insights from three perspectives, including the current state of development of SEM, the distinctive features and achievements of industry-university cooperation, and prospects for future collaboration. Representatives from ten organizations, including the Shunyi Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and Chaoyang School at Fuxue Hutong Primary School, spoke extensively about their collaborative efforts in enhancing students' practical skills and highlighted specific practices and outcomes of elevating the quality of their employability from various angles, including talent cultivation, program development, and enterprise growth. They also expressed high appreciation for both our faculty members and students.

On the forum, BCU awarded 501 enterprises and public institutions with outstanding contributions in areas such as integration of industry and education, collaborative talent cultivation, internship practices, and employment implementation, presenting them with honors including "Excellent Graduate Workplace Experience Base," "University-Enterprise Collaborative Education Award," and "Star Enterprise-University Collaboration Unit." Furthermore, 188 newly signed and renewed enterprises and institutions, which, in 2024, will collaborate with BCU to develop local industries by leveraging local and industry resources, were designated as "Off-campus Talent Cultivation Base."

This university-enterprise grand event not only signifies our institution's proactive exploration of new models for talent cultivation in the new era but also represents a fresh opportunity to focus on cooperation in digital economy development and accelerate the cultivation of high-level innovative talents. Following this, the university will continually expand cooperation resources, persistently advance the collaboration between the university and enterprises, and make every effort to promote graduates' high-quality and sufficient employment.
