On May 20th, the Confucius Institute of the University of San Marino was invited by the local high school to carry out a tie-dye workshop, with the enthusiastic participation of all the teachers and students of the Class B, Grade 2 of the high school.
The workshop organized the students to appreciate the works of China's national intangible cultural heritage --- Bai nationality and Zigong tie-dye craft, to learn the basic techniques of tie & dye, and to try the three classic patterns of tie & dye, namely, spiral pattern, fish scale pattern, and checkerboard pattern. The students were very excited and eager to try, and fully felt the rich and colorful humanities and regional characteristics of China's ethnic minorities as well as their original strength.


This workshop is one of the diversified workshops organized by the Confucius Institute for high school students, which will be followed by a series of workshops on Chinese cuisine and table manners. Through rich cultural workshops, young people of San Marino can get to know the customs and geographical features of China, and further improve their understanding of Chinese culture.
