The School of Performing Arts and Perfect World Education Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Jointly Hosted a Virtual Filming and Production Technology Sharing Seminar

On March 23rd, the School of Performing Arts invited the well-known Chinese education company - Perfect World Education Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. to jointly host a virtual filming and production technology sharing seminar. A total of 75 teachers from 42 universities across the country visited BCU Future Imaging Center to explore and experience virtual filming and production technology.

During the tour of the Future Imaging Center, the participating experts introduced the research directions and achievements of virtual filming and production to the visiting teachers, and described the current applications of virtual filming in the film and television industry as well as the stage performance field. In the hands-on experience session, under the guidance of the experts, the visiting teachers personally experienced various aspects of virtual filming, from camera tracking and positioning systems, to media stream servers and rendering servers for real-time compositing, to the generation of images on LED screens. After the hands-on experience, many teachers developed a strong interest in virtual filming and production technology and its future development, and engaged in in-depth discussions with the experts.

Virtual filming and production is at the forefront of film and television technology, with vast development potential and employment prospects. However, due to the high thresholds of equipment and technology, there are only a few universities in China that have the corresponding teaching conditions, and the Future Imaging Center of the School of Performing Arts is one of them. The establishment of the Future Imaging Center has added professional competitiveness to the future employment of students in related majors.
