The Animation Major (Japanese International Class) of the School of International Culture and Communication offers joint lectures with Japanese universities

In order to improve the international teaching level of the School of International Culture and Communication (SICC), the Animation Major (Japanese International Class) of the SICC has carried out three joint lectures with the Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) this semester, including "Animation Image Design", "Original Animation Movement Rules" and "Animation Director". The Japanese professors and faculties in SICC conducted a detailed course design and research before the lectures.

In November, Prof. Nomura of KCGI and Dr. Li Zhuo of SICC conducted the first online lecture for the students majoring in Animation (Japanese Language International Class) in 2022. Dr. Li Zhuo firstly taught the decomposition rules of coherent movements in animation, the principle of movement and the mastery of movement rhythm. Prof. Nomura taught from the principle of animation movement and the rule of character movement, so that the students could gradually master the knowledge of animation movement and drawing techniques, and instructed the students to carry out the exercise of graphic design.

In December, SICC OF BCU and KCGI conducted the second joint online lecture. Dr. Li Zhuo taught about character dynamics and perspective, and image design methods for animals, people and aliens. Prof. Kohata of KCGI analyzed the design ideas and expression techniques of character traits, age, occupation and other elements in the process of character design, starting from specific image cases.

In January, Prof. Kohata and Dr. Li Zhuo conducted the third joint lecture. The teachers mainly taught the basic specifications of lens screen design and the basic knowledge, principles and methods of designing each component, and instructed the students to carry out case study and exercise.

The joint lectures between SICC of BCU and KCGI are the special program of Animation Major (Japanese International Class) in international cooperation. Through the joint lectures in this semester, the internationalization level of the professional education of the Major has been promoted, the students' horizons and thinking have been broadened, and the students' professional interests and creative abilities have also been stimulated.
