Beijing City University and the University of Hull in the UK jointly held a meeting for faculty and students of the International Courses in Finance and Accounting

On the afternoon of October 20th, Beijing City University (BCU) and the University of Hull (Hull) in the UK jointly held a meeting for faculty and students of the International Courses in Finance and Accounting. Pro.Philip Gilmartin, Vice President of Hull, Pro.Dominic Greenfield, Global Recruitment Manager of Hull, Pro.Peter Andrews, member of Business School, Pro.Yuan Jia, Vice President of BCU, and Pro.Li Jiayi, Director of the School of International Culture and Communication, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Students and teachers from the 2023 cohort of the International Courses in Finance and Accounting attended the meeting, which was hosted by Ms.Ma Shiyao from the Department of Finance and Management.

During the meeting, Pro.Yuan Jia introduced the characteristics and development of BCU and expressed good wishes for further deepening cooperation with Hull. Pro.Philip Gilmartin, Vice President of Hull, stated that BCU is one of the most solid partners of Hull, and Hull attaches great importance to cultivating talents in the International Courses in Finance and Accounting with BCU.

Mr.Shang Zerui, a representative of the alumni from the International Course in Finance of graduating class 2023, shared his learning experience in BCU and Hull, thanking both universities for providing him and his classmates with a broad international perspective. He also mentioned that 98% of the students in the dual-degree transfer credit program have successfully achieved their goal of pursuing a master's degree at world-renowned universities. The students of class 2020 and 2021 who are currently studying at Hull produced videos about their overseas study and life, while the representative of the class 2023 expressed gratitude for the learning platform provided by the two universities and pledged to continue to study hard and make progress. After the meeting, students actively consulted with teachers from Hull on issues such as foreign language proficiency requirements, scholarships, and career development.

The meeting ended successfully with the blessings of the faculty from both universities. The Accounting and Finance International Courses of School of International Culture and Communication will work with overseas partner institutions to carry out various international exchange programs and academic activities, such as the China-UK Financial and Economic Workshop series, overseas teacher lectures, and international student learning salons, fully realizing international integration in knowledge dissemination and skill development.
