Recently, Dr. Zheng Siyuan, Head of the Spanish Department of BCU, went to the College of Foreign Languages of Sichuan University to participate in the 4th Advanced Forum for Spanish Deans/Department Heads of Chinese Universities.

Under the theme of "New Era, New Journey, New Development", the leaders of the Foreign Language and Literature Steering Committee for Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education and many experts in the field of teaching and research of foreign language majors conducted in-depth discussions on the development of the Spanish major, teaching reform, innovation of talent cultivation mode, construction of the first-class major and curricula, improvement of teachers' quality, edit of teaching materials, talent cultivation of political and ideological education, and intelligent teaching ways. After the forum, Dr. Zheng Siyuan organized the teachers of Spanish Department of BCU to study the guidance put forward by the experts at the forum, and to analyze and discuss the experiences shared by the participants. The Spanish Department will also actively apply the lesson learned from this advanced forum to comprehensively promote the development of the Spanish major of BCU.

This forum is an advanced academic activity for scholars of Spanish, sponsored by the Sub-committee for Teaching Guidance of Spanish of the Foreign Language and Literature Steering Committee for Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), and Sichuan University, and undertaken by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Publishing House (SFLE).
