On May 14th, the 2023 City Cup faculty men's basketball tournament,sponsored by BCU labor union and organized by the basketball association, came to a successful conclusion. A total of 53 faculty basketball enthusiasts, including foreign teachers, from 12 union teams formed seven representative teams to participate in the competition.

At the opening ceremony of the competition, Pro.Qin Shiyou, Vice Chair of University Council and Vice President, attended and gave a speech. He fully affirmed the significance of this competition, expressed his hope that faculty and staff could exercise consciously, and hoped everyone would participate in the event with the principle of "safety and friendship first, and results second" to show their skills. Pro.Sun Shimin, the Chairman of the Labor Union, also attended the opening ceremony.

During the competition, the seven participating teams competed in the group stage and the semifinals, with the Shunyi Student Group representative team ultimately winning the championship.The joint representative team composed of the first labor union administration and the information department union group won second place, while the joint representative team composed of the teaching assistant union group and the logistics group of the first labor union won third place. Four joint representative teams and three independent representative teams were awarded the Excellent Organization Award and the Spiritual Civilization Award respectively.

This competition has provided a platform for faculty and staff from various departments to exercise, cooperate, and communicate. It enriched the leisure and cultural life of the teaching staff and improved the team cohesion and centripetal force of the departments.
