School of Urban Construction and Beijing Institute of Architectural Design Carried out Joint Teaching

Recently, School of Urban Construction and Beijing Institute of Architectural Design (BIAD) have carried out a joint teaching activity for the course Architectural Construction Drawing Design. The activity includes two parts: theoretical teaching and drawing evaluation guidance.


In the theoretical teaching session, on March 15, Zhang Yuehua, an engineer from BIAD, gave a lecture entitled Interpretation of Fire Prevention Codes for Architectural Design, which focused on the specific application of fire prevention codes in architectural planning and design, site design, architectural layout from both general drawing and architecture aspects. On March 29, Li Jing, another engineer from BIAD, gave a lecture on the theme of Whole Process Control of Architectural Design -- Multi-special Collaboration. In combination with her rich experience in construction drawing design and on-site collaboration, Li Jing explained the common problems, solutions and points of attention in the cooperation with government departments, construction parties, users, special deepening parties and various specialties in construction drawing design in practical work.

In the process of drawing evaluation guidance, on April 12, Zhang Yuehua and Li Jing evaluated the preliminary design stage of construction drawing design for students majoring in architecture of grade 2020. Based on the preliminary design results submitted by students, they showed students the problems in the drawings one by one, and briefly explained the important role of construction drawing design for the implementation of construction projects in conjunction with the actual engineering situation. 


This school-enterprise joint teaching is an innovative course teaching mode created for Year 3 students majoring in architecture, which laid a good foundation for the innovative teaching of the course Architectural Construction Drawing Design and played an important role in cultivating application-oriented talents with good adaptability, many practical capabilities, and high comprehensive quality in institutes of architectural design.
