On November 3rd, Alibaba Cloud Big Data Faculty from School of Information Technology invited Dr. Pei Zhiyong, researcher of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, deputy general manager of Beijing Computing Center Co., Ltd., and leader of intelligent computing team, to deliver a lecture on Cutting-edge Technology Application of Artificial Intelligence in the field of Biomedicine for students majoring in Software Engineering, Big Data Science and Technology, and Computer Science Technology.

Dr. Pei explained the application of artificial intelligence technology in life science and medical health, such as RetinaNet technology to realize mask detector, artificial intelligence to identify viral infection, Pytorch medical image to split open source libraries, application of image registration on medical images,etc..

He deeply analyzed relevant knowledge points with real cases, and also introduced the bio-informatics analysis platform based on high-powered computing to the students. Through the analysis of artificial intelligence-assisted data, the problems of difficult data mining and high computational intensity could be solved, making contributions to clinical diagnosis, disease risk prediction and other fields.

This lecture greatly benefited Computer Science majors. They had a deeper understanding of the artificial intelligence application, which guides them the direction of future learning.
