BCU Students’ works were selected in the National Excellent Calligraphy and Engraving Exhibition of the 13th China Arts Festival  

On September 7th, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the list of works, which would be exhibited in the National Excellent Calligraphy and Engraving Works Exhibition of 13th China Arts Festival. Haikun Zhu Trace were successfully selected, with its author Cao Haikun being the youngest exhibiting worker in this exhibition. It is guided by Prof. Zhang Hongjun, the teacher of Calligraphy Education from the School of Education.

The 13th China Arts Festival is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Tianjin Municipal People's Government, and the People's Government of Hebei Province. It is the highest-standard, largest scaled and most influential national and comprehensive cultural and artistic event in China. As one of the main activities, the calligraphy and engraving exhibition attracted excellent works from all over the country. After expert review, a total of 336 works were selected into the exhibition, including 264 calligraphy works and 72 engraving works.

The exhibiting authors includes old, middle-aged and young generations of calligraphers and seal engravers. It includes the new works of famous calligraphers and seal engravers with outstanding artistic achievements and strong influence, the masterpieces strictly selected from the open  collection channels of young and middle-aged artists, as well as good pieces of China's famous calligraphers. It is a concentrated presentation of the inheritance, innovation and development of China's calligraphy and engraving in the new era, representing the mainstream development trend of calligraphy and engraving today.
