Three Hills and Five Gardens Lecture in Confucius Institute at University of Guadalajara

On May 10th, Dr. Kang, lecturer from the School of Urban Construction gave a lecture on "Chinese Traditional Architectures- -Three Hills and Five Gardens" to the Confucius Institute at University of Guadalajara.The Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute and more than 20 students participated in the lecture.

In the lecture, Dr. Kang gave a multifaceted introduction to the Three Hills and Five Gardens in terms of history, origin and architectural features. Through the display of pictures and videos, students had a more comprehensive understanding of the Hills, such as Longevity Hill and Fragrant Hill, as well as Chinese royal gardens such as the Summer Palace, Changchun Yuan, and Yuanming Yuan, which allows students to feel the charm of traditional Chinese architecture at home. At the same time, Dr. Kang sent an invitation to the students, hoping that they can come to China to visit, learn about Chinese architecture, and experience Chinese culture after the pandemic.

It is known that this lecture is the first lecture on traditional Chinese architecture delivered by the the lecturer from Beijing City University(BCU) for Confucius Institute at University of Guadalajara. In the future, BCU will organizes more activities on traditional Chinese culture with the Confucius Institute.
