Recently, the People’s Government of Hubei Province officially announced the winners of the 14th Hubei Provincial Award for Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences. A research output co-authored by Zhang Yingwen, faculty member of the School of Urban Construction at Beijing City University (BCU) and the Capital Research Base for Urban Environmental Construction, in collaboration with China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), was awarded Third Prize.

The Hubei Provincial Award for Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences is a provincial-level award established by the Peoples Government of Hubei Province. Awarded biennially, it is the highest honor in the field of social sciences in Hubei, recognized for its strong authority and academic influence. Zhang Yingwens award-winning work, Research on Land Space Development, Utilization, and Registration Systems (a monograph, ranked 2nd author), addresses local practical needs and integrates multidisciplinary perspectives to offer innovative approaches to the development, utilization, and governance of urban-rural land space. Key recommendations from the study have already informed and supported local administrative practices.

Moving forward, BCU will continue to create favorable conditions and provide robust support for faculty research, encouraging scholars to produce more outstanding outcomes that respond to contemporary societal needs and deliver meaningful public value.
