On October 30, the "Unveiling Ceremony of Li Jingsheng National Senior Pharmacist Inheritance Studio and Experience Exchange Conference on Inheritance by Senior Pharmacist Experts" was held at the Aerospace City Campus of Beijing City University. Li Dejuan, Deputy Director of Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Tian Peiyuan, Executive Vice President of BCU, Professor Li Jingsheng (a national senior pharmacist), as well as TCM experts, teachers and student representatives from multiple hospitals, enterprises and universities in Beijing, attended the event.

The event kicked off in a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere. In her speech, Tian Peiyuan reviewed the development history of the university's Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) major since its establishment in 1997. She emphasized that BCU has always adhered to the educational philosophy of "inheriting the essence and innovating while upholding traditions", and constructed a talent training model integrating "institutional education and teacher-apprenticeship education". She stated that the establishment of Li Jingsheng National Senior Pharmacist Inheritance Studio is an important measure for the university to promote the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage skills of TCM and deepen the reform of education and teaching. BCU will continue to increase support for the studio and build an inheritance platform integrating "tradition + modernity".

In her speech, Li Dejuan pointed out that senior pharmacists are the "living heritage" of traditional TCM skills and a precious asset for the inheritance and development of TCM cause. She emphasized that the unveiling of the studio is not only a tribute to Li Jingsheng's half-century commitment as a senior pharmacist, but also an important milestone in the inheritance and development of TCM in the capital. She hoped that the studio will give full play to the role of "passing on experience, helping and guiding", cultivate a group of reserve TCM talents who understand traditions, master skills and love the industry, and promote the integrated development of traditional TCM skills and modern technologies.

During the unveiling ceremony, Li Dejuan and Tian Peiyuan jointly unveiled the plaque of "Li Jingsheng National Senior Pharmacist Inheritance Studio". Subsequently, a flag-giving ceremony for the teacher-apprenticeship class was held, where Professor Li Jingsheng presented the flag to student representatives, symbolizing the intergenerational inheritance of TCM skills. Distinguished guests presented flowers to Professor Li Jingsheng, and many enterprises and medical institutions also sent flowers to express their high respect for the older generation of TCM practitioners.

In the session of lectures and thematic exchanges by senior pharmacist experts, Jin Yan from the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, gave a special lecture titled "The Growth Path of National TCM Master Jin Shiyuan". Ju Hai from China-Japan Friendship Hospital shared insights on "Inheritance and Development of Traditional TCM Skills". In the roundtable forum, several national senior pharmacists conducted in-depth discussions around "The Path of Inheritance and Transformation of Unique Skills of Senior Pharmacists", exploring innovative approaches for traditional skills in modern society.

At the end of the event, participating leaders and guests visited Li Jingsheng National Senior Pharmacist Inheritance Studio and teaching bases. They gained an on-site understanding of BCU's teaching and research environment in TCM identification, processing, preparation and other fields, fully affirmed the annual construction achievements of the studio, and put forward suggestions for the studio to continue playing its role as a talent training platform.
