In the afternoon of May 26th, Beijing City University (BCU) successfully held the "Gathering Strength, Winning Together and Promoting Employment" 2023 Outstanding Enterprise Selection for BCU-Enterprise Cooperation and the 8th School-Enterprise Cooperation Forum in Chaobai Lecture Hall on Shunyi Campus. 96 representatives from organizations that have been constantly collaborating with BCU attended the event and received awards and medals. Prof. Gong Yu, Chair of the University Council of BCU; Prof. Qin Shiyou, Vice Chair of University Council and Vice President of BCU; Prof. Yuan Jia, Vice President of BCU, as well as other relevant responsible staff and more than 600 teachers and students attended the event. Ms. Hua Hui, Director of Career Guidance Center of BCU, hosted the event.
Prof. Gong Yu firstly extended his warm welcome and sincere thanks to the participating employers. He demonstrated that the high-quality applied talents of BCU has been cultivated through the joint efforts and support from all of the organizations in collaboration with BCU. BCU will comprehensively build an employment mode which is student-centered, application-oriented, and innovative to the requirements of times. BCU will also insist on expanding students’ employment by visiting enterprises, strengthening the school-enterprise collaboration, and strive to do a good job in graduate employment.
Prof. Wang Hui, Dean of School of Information Technology, made a comprehensive introduction of the great role played by the school-enterprise collaborative faculty in the cultivation of new engineering talents, with the title of “Deepening the Integration of Industry and Education, and Innovating the Cultivation Mode of IT Talents”. Ms. Zhang Qian, Director of University and College Cooperation Department of Ali Cloud Computing Co., Ltd., Mr. Guo Zhihao, Director of Strategic Development Department of Beijing Capital Development Co., Ltd., and Mr. Bao Yunfan, Chief Editor of Education Channel of YNET Co., Ltd. respectively introduced the specific practices and achievements of enterprises in helping schools to integrate professional education with industries, helping students to cultivate and improve practical ability, mutual employment of teachers and transformation of achievements, and also expressed their praise of teachers and students of BCU.
In the forum, BCU offered the awards of "Outstanding Graduate Career Experience Base" and "Outstanding Enterprise in School-Enterprise Cooperation" to 200 enterprises and institutions that have made great contributions in integration of industries and education, collaborative teaching, internship practice, employment implementation, etc. BCU also awarded 55 organizations, which have newly signed and renewed contracts with BCU with "Off-Campus Talent Cultivation Base" plaque for their focus on the development of local industries, as well as their collaboration with BCU relying on local resources and the construction of industry and enterprise resources.
This event is not only a new way for BCU to actively explore the new mode of talent cultivation in the new era, but also a new opportunity for the university, government, enterprise to jointly carry out deeper and higher level of comprehensive collaboration. With the help of this forum, BCU will work with the employers to build a new pattern of industry-education integration, make new contributions to serve the regional economy and social progress, support the high-quality development of industry, and endeavor to achieve a win-win situation for schools and enterprises in terms of promoting employment of graduates.
