Delegation of Beijing City University successfully completed the visit to the University of Guadalajara in Mexico

During the Spring Festival, led by Professor Zeng Yuhong, the delegation of Beijing City University successfully completed the visit to the University of Guadalajara, and the two universities carried out a series of exchange activities in academic, art, cultural and other aspects.

During the visit, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the Confucius Institute jointly established by Beijing City University and the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. Professor Wang Limin, a painting and calligraphy artist, Mr. Li Nan, teacher of Peking Opera major and Mr. Bi Hang, teacher of Opera Education major presented wonderful performances for the opening ceremony. Subsequently, the delegation had an extensive and in-depth exchange on the university cooperation with Dr. Carlos Ewan, the Academic Vice President of the University of Guadalajara. Officials from the Education Department and Science and Technology Department of the Chinese Embassy in Mexico attended the meeting as delegates and expressed their support on the work of the Confucius Institute.

The delegation visited the School of Art, Architecture and Design and and the School of Economics and Management of University of Guadalajara. Professor Wang Limin and Associate Professor Chen Jiemin gave lectures on the theme of "Artistic Expression in Chinese Architecture" and "Bilateral Trade of China and Mexico" to the teachers and students of the two schools, which was warmly welcomed. After the academic activities, the delegation had a discussion with the Deans of the two schools. Both of them expressed their intentions for the next cooperations and looked forward to the in-depth exchanges in the next stage. At the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara, Mr. Li Nan from the School of Performance introduced the art of Chinese Peking Opera to the students and local people. The vivid and detailed explanation made the audience understand the quintessence of Chinese art, and the students expressed their devotion for Chinese culture.    

The visit of the delegation of Beijing City University has aroused the popularity of Chinese culture in Guadalajara, Mexico. The Confucius Institute jointly built by Beijing City University and the University of Guadalajara will serve as the bridge between the universities and the two countries, carrying out exchanges at more aspects and levels.
