Team from BCU won prizes in the Evaluation of Teachers and Students from Capital Universities and Colleges Rural Revitalization Action Plan

On September 28th, Beijing Municipal Education Work Committee and Beijing Municipal Education Committee held a summary and display activity in the Library Lecture Hall of Beijing University of Agriculture, themed on honoring the winning teams from capital universities and colleges who participating in the Action Plan. BCU team of Blockchain Traceability Helps the Protection and Development of National Geographical Indication Agricultural Products in Nanxiaoying Village (Daxing District) won the first price, which was guided by Prof. Yu Lei and Prof. Yan Huang from School of Biomedicine. The team of Bring Health Care Knowledge into the Countryside and Boost the Health Literacy of Residents, guided by Prof. Yang Chunmei from School of Biomedicine, won the third price.

Prof. Yu Lei, as the only teacher representative, shared his experience entitled Our Thinking, Action and Touch on Action, on the commendation meeting. It was unanimously praised by the leaders and representatives attending the meeting.

Zhang Ge, Deputy Secretary of Beijing Municipal Education Work Commission, gave full recognition to the winning team and project of BCU. He believed that Blockchain Traceability Helps the Protection and Development of National Geographical Indication Agricultural Products in Nanxiaoying Village (Daxing District), not only solved the pain point of landmark products, but also had technical content.

In June, the Action Plan selected a few outstanding teams to 119 villages of 22 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country. These teams carry out practice, helping rural development and achieving remarkable results. In order to further refine the experience and stimulate the advanced, 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes and 38 excellent awards were selected through the evaluation of experts and recommendation of colleges and universities. This award not only affirmed the social service work of BCU, but also explored a new way of combining theory and practice for all the teaching departements.
